After years of dominance by the Mac Mini in the compact desktop category, the wait is finally over for Windows users. Lenovo has officially introduced the ThinkCentre Neo 50q, the first Windows mini PC powered by an ARM-based Snapdragon X chipset. This marks a major milestone, as it's the first time ARM architecture—commonly seen in Apple Silicon—has been used in a Windows mini PC, making the ThinkCentre Neo 50q a truly exciting launch for tech enthusiasts and productivity-focused users.

After speaking with long-term users of the Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50q (Snapdragon X version), the feedback appears mixed but overall positive. The Snapdragon X platform delivers solid performance for productivity and everyday workloads, making it suitable for office users, students, and professionals who rely on apps like Microsoft Office, web browsing, video calls, or light multitasking.

With 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB SSD storage (1028GB approx.), the Neo 50q provides ample memory and fast access speeds for most daily usage scenarios. The system operates silently, and when mounted behind a monitor, it creates an incredibly clean, minimalistic, and pleasant desktop setup—ideal for modern workspaces.

As long as you don’t require heavy graphics workloads or professional video editing, the Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50q with Snapdragon X performs perfectly well for everyday tasks. However, if your work involves intensive creative or GPU-dependent applications, you should consider a more powerful system in a different segment.

Why do I buy the Lenovo ThinkCenter Neo, and is it available in India?

Yes! ThinkCenter New 50q  is available in the Indian Market and priced around INR 55,000. The ThinkCenter New 50q was released in January 2025. I like mini PCs. Lenovo ThinkCenter Neo 50Q is larger in size compared to the Apple Mini PC, but the company has used that space wisely.

The mini PC comes with a box that includes a slim keyboard and a wired mouse inside. That is perfectly serviceable for daily use.

It can work with the Adobe suite, and it is slow. This is probably an issue on every Snapdragon device. If the work is based on Adobe, my suggestion is to get a custom pc or laptop.

Pros Cons
  • The Snapdragon X SoC is plenty powerful
  • The device has plenty of ports
  • Small and Silent
  • The box includes a keyboard and a mouse
  • It can't be used for graphic-related works
  • Needs an external power supply
  • Expencive
